Mommy Moments # 4 Your Mommy Moment

Before I begin a busy week ahead of me, I would not want to miss this week's Mommy Moments. I know that it was really very special for all the mommies out there, for us to have a chance and an outlet to share our different thoughts about being a mother. Well, it is not very new to many mommies about my journey of having my baby because i have already made an article about it and post it here.

It was indeed a dream come true for us, a shining ray in the gloomy period of my life. God really works well. He gave us our baby for me to have courage despite the heartaches and He teaches me to forgive and forget. The events were really fast and very unexpectedly but the most precious thing I have learned is that the best way to heal your broken heart is a hope for a better future.

I am so happy to have my Peachy, to cherish and to love. Every day with her is a treasured memory.

Our first Studio Picture

As a gift to all my friends, i am sharing you this sunshine award, http://www.melandriaromero.net/2009/12/november-sunshine-award.html#comments. I hope it can add some smile in your heart.

For more Mommy Moments do come and visit the site.

"Orphan"

When I first saw the trailer of "Orphan", I said that I would not watch the movie. Just the thought of it really scares me but hubby bought a copy and I have no other reason not to watch it. It is not because i am weak, i just don't like terrible things. But watching this movie helps me to cope with my fears and face the reality of many different things. - Lesson learned, good looks can really be deceiving and if you really love your family, you will fight for them, until the end.

I am not recommending that you watch this movie because I believe that this thought will lingers in my head for a while but to tell you honestly, it was quite a very good movie indeed.

Synopsis:
Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John Coleman (Peter Sarsgaard) are experiencing strains in their marriage after Kate's third child - "Jessica" - was stillborn. The loss is particularly hard on Kate, who is still recovering from a drinking habit that cost her her job. As a coping mechanism she has scattered Jessica's ashes in their garden around a white rose bush, with a plaque to remember her by.They adopt Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman), a 9-year-old Russian girl they had met, from the local orphanage. While Kate and John's deaf-mute daughter Max (Aryana Engineer) embraces Esther almost immediately, their son Daniel (Jimmy Bennett) is less welcoming.

Kate grows suspicious when Esther, who watched Kate and John have sex, expresses far more knowledge of sex and its slang than would be expected for a child her age. Not long after Esther arrives, she pushes a schoolmate down a playground slide, who had picked on her, breaking her ankle. Max saw Esther shove the girl, but covers for Esther by saying that the girl "slipped". However, she is further alarmed when Sister Abigail (CCH Pounder), the head of the orphanage, warns her and John about Esther's tendency to be around when things go wrong. Esther overhears this and later kills Sister Abigail with a hammer to the head. She convinces Max (puts a gun to her head) to help her hide the body and the hammer. Daniel sees Esther and Max descending from his treehouse from behind a rock, not knowing they hid the hammer there. Later that night, Esther threatens to cut off Daniel's "hairless little prick before he knows what its used for" if he tells anyone what he saw.

Kate is told by the orphanage that they cannot find any record of the Russian orphanage Esther came from. However, John does not believe her, despite continued ominous behavior by Esther. That night, Esther deliberately picks flowers for Kate that are from Jessica's plant and Kate pushes her to the ground. Later, Esther breaks her own arm in John's vice and convinces John that Kate broke it in the scuffle from earlier. On Esther's first day back at school, she slips Kate's SUV into neutral, nearly killing Max. Badly shaken, Kate buys two bottles of wine, but at the last minute pours one of them down the drain and leaves the other full.

Kate learns that Esther was housed at a mental institution in Estonia called the Saarne Institute, but when she expresses misgivings to John, he and her counselor think that Kate is relapsing into her drinking habit. After John produces the other bottle Kate bought the night before, he threatens to leave her unless she gets help.

Daniel learns of the hammer from Max and decides to get it and go to the police. However, Esther sets the treehouse on fire, intending to get rid of the evidence and kill Daniel. Daniel escapes by falling out of the tree, and gets a severe neck injury. Esther tries to finish him off by smashing a brick over his head, but Max shoves her out of the way just in time. Esther again tries to kill him at the hospital by smothering him with a pillow. As doctors rush to save Daniel, Kate angrily knocks Esther down for doing that and is sedated by doctors.

That night, Esther tries to seduce a drunk and sad John. John realizes Kate was telling the truth all along and threatens to call the orphanage. Esther, angry at being spurned, ransacks her room and later stabs John to death. Max witnesses this and hides in her laundry hamper.

As Kate is coming out of sedation, she gets a call from the Saarne Institute's director, Dr. Värava (Karel Roden), who reveals that Esther isn't a 9-year-old girl at all, but a 33-year-old woman named Leena Klammer. She has hypopituitarism, a disorder that stunted her physical growth, and has spent most of her life posing as a little girl. The doctor tells Kate that Esther is dangerously psychotic, and Kate should rush home to her family. Kate rushes home, where Esther shoots her in the arm before searching for Max.

Their chase takes them outside to a frozen pond, where Kate and Esther struggle as Esther attempts to stab Kate. Max is watching the struggle from above the pond, and comes down the hill to grab the gun that was dropped during the chase. She shoots the ice, which cracks and both Kate and Esther fall in. Kate crawls out of the hole, followed by Esther, who begs for her life, addressing Kate as "Mommy". Kate angrily responds that she is not her mother and kicks Esther in the face, breaking her neck and sending her back into the pond to drown.

A brand new Monday

We have a successful get together party yesterday. It is so happy to see your old friends/office-mates now god parents of my little Peachy bringing their own chikitings. Seeing the small children dancing really melt my heart. How times flies that is one saying that is really worth thinking about. On the 23rd another friend will get married an for sure additional baby will come to be added to the circle. Peachy was really happy, enjoying the sight of new babies/playmates which is a very rare chance for her considering that she was alone with her yaya most of the week. Kyle , my inaanak slapped he face because Kyle doesn't want to be kissed,Ii was worried to see it but seeing her reaction made us all laughing. She was really shocked with her eyes widening, it was a first for her and she doesn't know how to react. She didn't cry at all or go to me for refuge but instead she even made ways to eventually kissed and hug Kyle. More stories and pictures will be posted later.

Mommy Moments # 3 - Talent

They say that the future of your children can be seen in what they like and love doing while they were young.

As early as now, we are encouraging her to listen to music and play the piano so that learning will be easier for her when her right age to begin her lessons comes. We wanted her to become a doctor someday, (hopefully) we are giving her things associated with medicines. One talent that is very visible now is her singing, her melody and rhythm was quite nice and even though she has a big body and tummy (LOL), she can sway her body gracefully.

For more talented children, do visit Mommy Moments. Till next week!

Girls Talk # 5 Birth Talk

This post is really nice. It's like sharing the whole you and rediscovering your birth all over again. My father told me that when i was born, Pope John Paul II was here for a visit in the Philippines and for that I was able to get my name, ROMARIANNE , she had given me a very unique name just fit for her newborn nini. My grand mother was ROMANA sounded like my name too. It was also the day when Prince Charles of Great Britain announces her engagement to the late beautiful and my most adorned Princess Di. I also researched just right now that i also share my birth date although not the same year to celebrities like:

1885 Chester Nimitz (US admiral)

1942 Joseph Lieberman (US senator)

1955 Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple)

1955 Alain Prost (racing driver)

1962 Michelle Shocked (singer)

1966 Billy Zane (actor)

It was also on this day in History that;

1582 Pope Gregory XIII announces Gregorian Calender.

1946 Juan Peron elected president of Argentina.

1981 Britain's Prince Charles becomes engaged to Lady Diana Spencer.

1992 Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain marries Courtney Love.

24 February is also:

Independence Day 1918 (Estonia)

Flag Day (Mexico)

http://www.fun4birthdays.com/birthday/february_24.html

I was born at a small barrio of Magsaysay, Santa Fe Romblon but was raised by my grandmother at San Andres, Malate, Manila and now living my married life at Naga City, Camarines Sur and my journey to life is yet to be fulfilled. I was not able to ask my mother when we have seen each other about her memories on giving birth to me. I think that would be my assignment but let's hope and see if we will still meet again.

25 days of Christmas Holiday Contest

Travelin' With Marie

This contest is given by Ms.Lalaine or most known as Marie of Travelin' with Marie. It's her offering for this Holiday and I am so excited to join. Do come and visit her and share with her the smiles of the Holiday Season. To you Ms. Marie, thank you so much for giving me a chance to be included in your wonderful contest and good luck to us all!

Our Christmas Tradition:

Since i got married, a happy tradition was taken place in hubby's home. On the first week of December, we will all gather to decorate the house with the Christmas trees, wreaths and lights. Because they were only few in the family, the 24th day of December is celebrated with a festive Noche Buena and was later on exchanging gifts which was very Filipino alike. I would say that it was different with my usual Christmas day because before, it's only me and my daddy who usually celebrates Christmas at home without the festivity of the season. We will eat our usual dinner and sometimes we give gifts to each other. Although it was not grand, I do miss my Daddy so much specially now that we will not be able to share it again now in this lifetime.

I'm Back!

After a long days of silence , i am totally back again in the blogging world. Because of the busy and hectic schedule last week i was not able to do my daily routines of posting and answering my well loved meme's. I also have many things to share but yet so tired that i was not able to last even for 30 minutes in front of my monitor.

I miss all of you, i also miss my farm "farmville, farmtown" (LOL) and all my fishes at Fishville who died of starvation perhaps (LOL). The three day supposed to be vacation is not a vacation after all because we decided to have a minor room renovations at home, speaking of minor, i thought it was really just a minor one but I was shocked to learn that i still need to buy additional hardiflex considering the existing one to be taken down was damaged. It was quite a rough day, cleaning the mess that the renovation causes and to prepare the foods for the carpenters but it was really good to see the result after the day's work. The work is not yet done because we still need to paint it and hubby volunteered to do the work with my little help of course. (LOL)
