Adobo@night Film Festival to raise funds for Sahara Network’s fight against cervical cancer

Adobo magazine, a magazine about Philippine Advertising and Brand Communications, leader of publication for advertising and marketing community in cooperation with GlaxoSmithKline together with BBDO/Guerrero Proximity with event partners EON The Stakeholder Relations Firm, Tangerine, Boho@8th Avenue, Outpost Visual Frontier, Cinemalaya and Creative Guild of the Philippines and Blog4reviews.com proudly presents a two day event (April 23-25, 2010) film festival in celebration of our country's top independent films and in order  to raise funds for Sahara Network, a foundation that seeks to educate  women of their health and to empower them to stand up against cervical cancer at the Boho@8th Ave Festival, the newest weekend Bohemian Festival and Night Market at The Fort located at 8th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City that caters not only the best  coffee, art and concepts but also equipped with a Night market and enticing array of goods , a truly  unique shopping experience and fun.


The two day event will feature the Best of Cinemalaya Short Films of 2009 and the Best TV Ads of the Decade, as curated by the Creative Guild of the Philippines. The 6 main films to be shown were chosen by Adobo magazine and curated by DDB Creative Director and independent film advocate Lilit Reyes.  

These films includes “Confessional”  who won Best Film in the 10th Osian Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema under the direction of Jerrold Tarog and Ruel Antipuesto. Pepe Diokno’s“Engkwentro” which gained the Premio Orizzonti Award for New Trends in Cinema in the Venice Film Festival.  “Himpapawid” by Raymond Red  which was nominated for the 2010 Gawad Urian award in multiple categories. Brilliante Mendoza’s “Kinatay” who won the prestigious award for Prix de la Mise en Scene in the 62nd Cannes Film Festival and was directed by one of the country's prime director, Erik Matti, “The Arrival”  which was also nominated for the Gawad Urian award for multiple categories and Richard Somes’ “Yanggaw” winner  of the 2009 Star Awards for Movies.
