I love being at home

Thursday, September 30, 2010

So many are the modern conveniences we have these days.  Things that I never would have dreamed of as a child (or even as a teenager) are now just a regular part of my life. It's a great thing, having all of these options in life.

I mean, I can stay at home and raise my daughter without having to worry about going out to get "a job."  I can work from home, and get all sorts of things done without any sort of big issues.  Really, even though it's easy to have a car, I barely need one.  My child and I can hang out at home while I work.

Think about all of the wonderful things that you can do with a computer, too. Have you ever stopped to consider how much power the average person has because of the computers we keep in our homes?  They allow us to do all sorts of incredible things.  Well, maybe being able to find any kind of information we want at a moment's notice is not that incredible, but I think it's keen.

If I want to know something, I don't have to go look it up in some dusty tome. I can just type a little, click a little, and there it is.  I can also do a lot of things that are more of the "business" of home.   Like I can pay bills without going anywhere, or mailing out a bunch of checks (that may or may not ever really get where they need to go).

I can check out whether I'm paying too much for home or car insurance while I wait for a funny video to load up.  This being online thing is truly a sweet blessing of being at home. I'm so glad I haven't got a boss who would be restraining my time and energy. This is so nice!
