Ash Wednesday Observance
Wednesday, March 09, 2011 Ash wednesday is not a holiday but a holy day of obligation for every Catholic. It also marks the first day of Lent wherein a catholic minister will put ashes in the sign of the cross to our forehead as a sign of our mourning and repentance to our sins. Lent is also a beginning of fasting when meat is not allowed to eat every friday. This is the time that we look back on our past and make repentance on whatever sins we have done.
