Trade Show Booths

Given the new trending today, trade show booth are really in demand today, it's easy to set up, very affordable for budget wise and you get to get a return of your goods.

While visiting Manila, i have heard about this new ongoing trade show which they called Noel Bazaar, many goods can be bought there and some booth are even operated by local artists. When, I was in my high school years, we also used to join trade shows, selling the foods that our group will make to earn us just even a small amount of money that can help us in our different projects.

So, if you are thinking of setting up or joining trade shows, keep in mind, what the buyers would love to buy.

The Road- A preview

I never thought that I would be invited to watch the highly praised "The Road", a GMA 7 offering and directed by one of the best director in the Philippine Cinema, Director Yam Laranas. This is just a preview of why you don't have to miss this beautiful movie.

Below is the official press release of the movie and some pictures and video.  My actual review of the movie is to follow, but still, I want to congratulate the whole cast because of what they have done to make the movie a great reality.

"Beginning November 30, GMA Films will take movie fanatics to a whole new level of horror where there is no room for clichés and predictable outcomes, but only for a mind-boggling and hair-raising thrill ride via “The Road.”

The Road” stars Carmina Villarroel, Marvin Agustin, Rhian Ramos, Barbie Forteza, TJ Trinidad, tween stars Alden Richards, Louise delos Reyes, Derrick Monasterio, Lexi Fernandez, Ynna Asistio and Renz Valerio.

Also starring in the film are John Regala, Lloyd Samartino, Gerald Madrid, Allan Paule, Dex Quindoza, Ana Abad Santos and Ms. Jacklyn Jose.

Described by international film critics as “creepy to the extreme” (KillerFilm.com) and a “beautifully shot supernatural tale with incredible effects and great scares” (Bloody Disgusting), The Road is a story about a twelve-year-old cold case, which is reopened when three teenagers go missing while traversing an infamous and abandoned road.  As investigators try to find leads to the whereabouts of the missing teens, they also unearth the road’s gruesome past that spans two decades – a history of abduction, crimes and murders.  Although the road is isolated, anyone who tries to pass through it can be sure that he is not alone.  Lingering in the dark and desolate pathway is a vengeful ghost who makes sure no one leaves the road – alive!

Known for his unorthodox brand of film-making, “The Road” director Yam Laranas (Sigaw/The Echo) promises to treat moviegoers to a fresh new approach to horror.

Apart from its superb cinematography and unique storyline, The Road also boasts of a hauntingly beautiful musical score created by Swedish composer Johan Soderqvist who received international recognitions for his score in the 2009 horror-thriller, Let the Right One In

Prepare yourselves for the scariest movie of the year – The Road – showing in nationwide theatres beginning November 30.

If you’re not brave enough, be cautioned: DON’T WATCH IT ALONE! (30)"

Disclosure:  Above is GMA's 7 official press release for bloggers who attended the special celebrity screening of the much awaited horror movie of 2011.

Thanksgiving Ideas

Everybody was talking about thanksgiving and some online shops has their own version of something to give to their valued customers.  You can avail some through your credit cards, i just don't know if a rfid credit cards can be valid in this kind of offers.

Upon seeing a beautiful bag, i thought to myself that it would be a nice thanksgiving gift, afterall what we are talking about here is giving thanks to people we meant or those we owe some gratitude and that for me is including my readers.

I know without you, this blog would not be what it was today, although I have my unexperience procedures and methods,  i am really happy that there are some friends, bloggers or not who are willing  to lend their hand to help you and that is what makes it more precious.

Dealing with Pain and loss

Dealing with the loss of a love one is sometimes difficult, especially if you have been missing him for quite sometime. When my own brother died when I was 9, i did not felt much pain because the bond that ties us is not that strong, because we were separated since i was months old but thinking the hope of having a real brother was the major blow. When, I lost my grand mother, the one who reared and take care of me when i was in high school, the pain is not that much considering that my life is still well at that time but when reality strikes me, my life changes and I need to work on my own to earn for my own living and to keep my studies. It was hard for a young teen age girl to learn how to live on her own but I got over it and I was able to finish my schooling and had my own family as well.

Coping with the loss, of having two miscarriages, i thought would be the worst days of my life but I was able to dealt with it and even though there is always the scary dreams and the pain lingering in your heart, I was able to find the good things out of it and my life continues.

When my father died three years ago, i thought, I could not cope up with it.  I asked God, why the one i love would always left and abandon me for good and I was in total shock for quite sometime but God gave me an answer, and she gave my daughter at the time I was lost, maybe to lessen the pain of losing my father and to bring back the joy in my heart.

Now, that my grand father died, i could feel the pain of my mother.  Although, i was not able to be with him and with her, the short time, I spent with him give me sadness.  I know that he is not a perfect person but i always see him as a good man and perhaps, he would be a great grand father to me, if he was given a chance but the distance between us  , did not permit him to do so.

So, i bid him farewell, goodbye and I hope his soul will rest in peace on the arms of our Good Lord.

A Strawberry filled Christmas

Christmas is coming near and I know many of you are very excited about the Yuletide season. For some, Christmas are very important because it is the time that family and friends get together. I have been dreaming to eat a chocolate covered strawberries but I could not find one in our market. When I was a child, Christmas is one of my favorite time because my grandmother would allow me to eat many chocolates I could consume and one of them is the strawberry coated with chocolates.

It's the only time  of year, I am allowed to eat many chocolates because she always told me that my teeth will be broken but eventually it still does.  Each year, when christmas is drawing nearer, I always remember my grand mother and her teaching and of course the chocolates I loved to eat.

Becoming a Virtual Assistant

When I started blogging, i never had the idea of what is a blog all about. But eventually and with some help of other blogger, i have learned the basic and now i have been passionately blogging my thoughts and ideas. But blogging is different from being a SEO master or a coder or a php expert or a Virtual Assistant.  Of all, Virtual Assistant is the one I know i am more capable to be.

Ever heard the word, Virtual Assistant or maybe a freelancer. This type of works are now in demand all over the net and many US and Europe Based companies are into outsourcing. Who does not want to earn money in the comfort of your own home? I am certain that you wanted to be as successful just like Nica of  The Virtual Assistant, a certified Virtual Assistant on her own right.  I have many bloggers friend who are also a Virtual Assistant or those who took jobs from Odesk. (but too sad, I could not find a job from there)

Many Virtual Assistants earn a lot of money from their work, i have heard some are paid hundred of dollars for a month's work but honestly, I am not looking for that big shot but a work that i will be happy and contented and something that I can cope up with the demands of time considering that I am an employee, a mother, a blogger and a part-time worrier.

But first, let us define Virtual Assistant:

A virtual assistant is someone who is self employed that provides professional, administrative, technical or social assistance to client. VA are individual contracts rather than a regular employee.

For a mom of two like me and had a morning full time work, being a Virtual Assistant is the perfect chance to earn additional income for our family. Afterall, it's the main reason why I am working hard and a career online would be a perfect fit for me.

Reading the benefits of being a Virtual Assistant makes me wonder if I could cope up the demands of it or am I qualified to become one.  To become an effective Virtual Assistant, I need to know the basic things about the social internet and of course, i need the gadgets in preparation for online work and these are;

      A computer
      A speaker
      A mic and ear phone
I am determined to be a good VA and I bet with the right guidance and perseverance.  I know I can be one.

Christmas Preparations

I am hearing Christmas jingles and fell the cold atmosphere in the early morning.  Christmas season was indeed coming very fast.  Peachy is all excited with the idea and encouraged her daddy to put the Christmas tree and the other decors.

I can feel the Christmas season but I am not yet excited.  I have many things going in my mind and somehow, all i want is to earn extra money to pay for all the bills and for the house. I wish there are many DA who will contact me regarding paid posts for my blogs, that I always pray and of course good health for my family.

Each year, we went out to celebrate the Yuletide season and as early as November, we already have plans on what we are going to do but this year, i don't have the appetite to do so but let us see if my mood changes and if we can still afford to.

Scan your heart out

Having away for a period of days.  I miss cuddling my babies and laughing and making exchange words with them. But it is also a good way to unwind and clear my minds for all the problem my life is experiencing.

I remember before going to Quezon, i went at our nearby mall and look for a new over wrapped that I can be used to cover my big arms and on one of the store, their barcode scanners keep on alarming when i went inside. I don't know what caused the alarm.  They said that it is possible that i still have a barcode on a new perfume or book but i have not bought either of that.  It was so distracting and everyone is looking at me when i went inside the store but knowing i have not done anything wrong and there is nothing i should explain of.  I still went inside the store and look for what i need.

It was three stores before I finally find what I am looking for and just imagine that. I guess, stores should be cautious too, removing the bar code of what you have bought from them, so it will not cause any scandals on the part of the buyer or customer.

Visiting Pitogo Quezon

Things maybe a little rough for me now but I get a chance to have a holiday from work and family.  I was lucky that hubby allow me to join other Pinoy Bloggers for a three day weekend festival at the Bondoc Peninsula, Quezon.

Pinoy Bloggers join
BonPen Festival  (pictures by JohnKarlo)

This year BonPen Festival was held at Pitogo and Unisan Quezon, two towns from out of the twelve towns where the Bondoc Peninsula was located.  Pitogo, Quezon is a coastal municipality, although going there will possibly consume hours of travel, you will not be having problems having a rough roads.

There is no market or talipapa in both towns but they have a fish port wherein you can buy fresh fish and a fair are usually held every Wednesday near the municipal hall enable residents to buy fresh vegetables and other goods coming from Gumaca or Lucena.  There are no local restaurants nor big stores but they have what they called "siyete onse" their version of 7-11 which was open till 3:00 A.M.  Foods are great and their pandesal is really tasty.

Because there is no market, foods can be bought from local stores or people selling from one house to another. Just like other provinces and municipalities, people knows everyone thus I bet gossip will be easy to spread. But their local are very friendly and this festival is just a proof of it because of their hospitality and camaraderie.

To go to Pitogo Quezon, you have the options to travel coming from Lucena or from Gumaca.  Since, i come all the way from Naga City, Camarines Sur, my drop point is Gumaca, Quezon.  Just make sure you will be at the terminal of Pitogo before the sun drops or else, you will be having a hard time finding a ride.  A Php. 35.00 fare or a less than a dollar is what you need for a Gumaca to Pitogo ride.

You will never get lost around the town but if you do, there are many locals who will be willing to answer your request for help.  Because their municipal has no wide tourism, no hotels or transient house could be found, so if you are going here for the first time, you need a local friend where you can stay for the night.

Just look at how old is the church but I guess i don't have any goosebumps going on the top of it.  I usually hate going at dark or spooky places but with other blogg perfect affair but it was surely a fun-filled events and it turned out well because of the help of everyone.  I am looking forward on my next visit on this beautiful place.

Living a colorful Life

We all love to live a life in living color and that means, finding a good job, having a peaceful and loving family, a healthy relationship with family and friends and having the best in everything.

This Halloween season, many celebrities love to go out to a nearby beach yet ordinary people would just spend their time at home or visiting the graveyard of their late family members. Today show will feature halloween treats or scary movies and spooky events but i hope this would not influence our whole being.

Whatever things you need to accomplish, let us always remember that life is precious and do the things we think that will make us a better person with a sound mind and happy heart.

Happy Halloween to all!
