Family that eats together stays together

my lovely family

Saying goes , a family that prays together stays together.  Well, it also a good thing if a family eats together.  Studies show that the more often families eat together, the less likely kids are to smoke, drink, do drugs, get depressed, develop eating develop eating disorders and consider suicide, and the more likely they are to do well in school, delay having sex, eat their vegetables, learn big words and know which fork to use. (Time Magazine)

Conversation during meal time gives a great opportunity for the family to have a good bonding time. Family meals foster warmth, security and love, as well as a good feelings of belonging.  It is also a good way to save money, foods prepared from home is more cost efficient rather than those that are bought from restaurants.

Meals prepared at home is more nutritious and healthy because you can choose what kind of food you will prepare for your family.

I totally agree with you! Our kids are still young so they really have no other choice but to eat meals with us but we have vowed to always make dinner time family time even when they are older.

Hope you can visit my KID entry too. :D

i am recently discovering the beauty of family mealtimes + mum is letting me sit on a chair of my own now, even giving me my own bowl of my favorite soup. i still need to practice holding a spoon, though, as i usually spill its content on the floor ^_^

thanks for joining k.i.d! :)
