Great Ideas for College Graduation Gifts
Thursday, May 16, 2013
When
shopping for that perfect gift it can be challenging when you are
buying for someone of a different generation. College or university
graduation gifts which may have been perfectly acceptable when you
graduated are not necessarily the same sorts of items today’s graduate
might find particularly desirable. It can be tempting to simply give
money or a gift card but that can diminish the meaningful recognition of
such an important accomplishment.
Take the time instead to really think
about what a young person about to embark on the next stage of their
life journey might truly appreciate and enjoy and you will likely come
up with an amazing gift idea.
When
thinking about any gift it’s a good idea to aim for something which you
believe the recipient would enjoy but not necessarily be able to
justify buying for them self. If the person is someone with a love of
cooking then a top quality chef’s knife set or a professional quality
stock pot or frying pan might be genuinely appreciated. For someone who
loves to travel a sturdy roller bag or a rugged duffle bag may be
welcome; a fine quality portfolio or briefcase is ideal for someone just
beginning their career.
Never
underestimate the value of a good night’s sleep – the ability to relax,
rest and awake refreshed is priceless; make it a possibility by giving
the gift of a set of fine quality sheets or luxurious bedding. Something
like a breathable down comforter is the sort of thing which will last
for years and provide a daily reminder of your thoughtfulness. Look for a high loft version – most beds will be even more comfortable with a luxurious down comforter.
